The South West Sports Centre is home to an elite team of passionate and dedicated personal trainers who keep your health and wellbeing at the centre of their work. Our trainers have a range of specialities and qualifications suited to meet a variety of fitness goals.

Patricia Walton

Gym Instructor / Personal Trainer / Group Fitness Instructor

Trish’s Fitness Story:

My love of all things exercise-related is what kicked off my 20-year career in the Health and Fitness Industry.

Prior to becoming a Personal Trainer I worked as a registered Nurse which has only served to enhance my understanding of the human body and programming for client-specific goals. My belief is that improved fitness should not only target physical health, but also emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. When training my clients, my priority is to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, strong, confident and happy. Each session with me will have a strong focus on attention to detail, correct technique and coaching to help you build healthy
habits, skills and knowledge for life.

Core strength development is my specialty and an integral part of my programming regardless of your goals.

Building a strong foundation will significantly aid in performance, stability, and functionality of your body. A strong internal core will, in turn, mirror the stronger you on the outside. Making changes can be very challenging. Small changes can become a habit and is more
achievable not to mention a great step in the right direction. Begin small, win bigger! I am keen to work with you to support and guide you through your health journey from start to finish and thereafter.

Kelly’s Fitness Story:

I am a dedicated Personal Trainer and Lifestyle Coach driven by a
profound passion for health and fitness, developed through a personal journey through health challenges.

I empathise with the complexities of weight management, particularly among women contending with age-related factors,
including Menopause and Hormone issues.

My approach revolves around customised, results-oriented
training tailored to individual needs and age considerations. I
integrate specialised knowledge in nutrition to optimise fitness
outcomes comprehensively.

Movement has always been a big part of my life and integral to my mental health.

I have an extensive background in strength and conditioning and
my passion is helping clients realise their own potential when it
comes to developing a strong, functional body.

My focus is on helping clients achieve sustainable success through form correction and education around mindset, nutrition, and lifestyle.

Renee Wharton

Renee’s Fitness Story:

Working in the fitness space was meant to be fun job while I pursed
other career options. However (many years later!) I am still excited and engaged to be working in this ever-evolving industry. To see the shift into exercise for wellbeing in recent years has been fantastic and
hearing clients feedback on how moving their bodies is allowing them
to control stress better, enhancing sleep quality and more mental
clarity really illustrates the benefits of exercise on many aspects of
your life.

Coming from a multi-sport sporting background, I enjoy assisting
athletes build their armour to get strong. Working with them to be
agile, have more rotational power and lower their injury risk profile to keep them involved in what they love for longer is a privilege.

My favourite way of training my clients is with functional
movements. This training method focus’ on helping to make
everyday movements easier.

I have always loved sport, playing netball all through my junior years. But it wasn’t until I was 30 that I discovered my love for strength training. From that point I instantly loved sharing that passion with others.

I am a working Mum and believe that fitness and strength training is so beneficial for parents and particularly women. My focus lies in teaching and encouraging women to reach their full potential in life through a strong, healthy, functioning body and lifestyle.

Jenn’s Fitness Story:

I started my health and fitness journey as a kid in my dad’s backyard
gym. Since then, I’ve always felt a pull to gym life.

My passion is to help people develop change in the simplest and most realistic way possible.

I care deeply about my clients, and there’s nothing of more value to me than helping somebody go through an experience that makes them happy, confident, and strong.

I realize how being overweight affects many aspects of your life, and vice versa with how hitting your personal goals can be empowering.

I am here to help you discover the benefits and joys of training. I’ m here to be your personal guide on every step of the journey.
