Welcome to Group Fitness at the South West Sports Centre! Our classes are designed to cater to all fitness levels and interests, led by experienced instructors who are passionate about helping you achieve your fitness goals. Joining our group fitness classes is not only a great way to stay motivated, but also a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded individuals. Whether you're into high-energy workouts, yoga, aquatics, or specialised training, we have something for everyone.

Class Descriptions

  • BODYATTACK: A 45-minute high-energy fitness class combining athletic moves and strength exercises.

    BODYBALANCE: Strengthen and calm your body with yoga, tai chi, and pilates-inspired moves in 30 or 60 minutes.

    BODYCOMBAT: Experience a non-contact martial arts-inspired workout for 60 minutes.

    BODYPUMP: Get a total body workout to gain strength and lean toned muscles in 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

    BODYSTEP: Tone your glutes and legs with this total body cardio workout using adjustable steps in 45 or 60 minutes.

    GRIT: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) with surprising cardio, strength, or athletic training formats in just 30 minutes.

    RPM: Take on the terrain with this indoor cycling workout, finding your rhythm to powerful music for 45 minutes.

    SPRINT: Achieve fast results with this 30-minute indoor cycling workout utilizing high-intensity interval training.

    CORE: Build strength, stability and endurance in the muscles that support your core, improve balance, assist injury prevention, and become better at everything you do.  (30 minutes)

  • BOX n BURN: A total body workout combining boxing, pad, and glove combinations with cardio and circuit-based exercises (60 minutes).

    FUNCTIONAL TRAINING: Improve fitness and strength with circuit interval training that mixes cardio and weights, run by personal trainers (45 minutes).

    TABATA: HIIT workout focusing on cardiovascular fitness, speed, and calorie burn (45 minutes).

    TEEN FIT: Strength and fitness class for ages 11-16 using cardio and resistance equipment (45 minutes).

    YOGA: Increase flexibility, balance, strength, and overall well-being through this ancient art (60 minutes).

    FITBALL: Low-impact class using fitballs to enhance range of motion, body alignment, posture, strength, and stability (45 minutes).

    FIT FOR LIFE: Moderate to low-intensity class aimed at increasing strength, fitness, and well-being, suitable for seniors and those with stable long-term health conditions (45 minutes).

    MOVE FOR LIFE: Introductory exercise program supporting people of all ages and abilities to gain strength and fitness (30 minutes).

    TAI CHILL: Easy-to-follow sessions based on tai chi and zen concepts, focusing on flexibility, strength, and balance (45 minutes).

    CLUB FIESTA: A low impact cardio class for all ages with easy-to-follow dance moves (45 minutes).

  • AQUA INTERVAL: Motivating water exercises, combining shallow and deep water workouts suitable for all fitness levels (50 minutes).

    AQUARIANS: Water workout for all swimming abilities in a social and fun atmosphere, great for making new friends (50 minutes).

    DEEP WATER RUNNING (25m): Aqua running and exercises in deep water using buoyancy aids, beneficial for recovery and joint problems (50 minutes).

    WATER WALKING: Enjoy a water walking class in waist-deep water, utilizing the water’s resistance with noodles and dumbbells (45 minutes).

  • Teens as young as 14 years can attend certain group fitness classes deemed safe for growing bodies:

    Bodystep
    Yoga
    Tai Chill
    Water Walking
    Teenfit

    Participants can attend classes on a casual basis (a parent or guardian over the age of 18 must sign either the casual waiver form or guardian approval form) located at reception or with a valid SWSC Membership. Proof of age may be requested for casual attendance.
