Having lived in the South West for 15 years, Charlotte now spends her time away from her creative studio running numerous art classes and community workshops around Bunbury.
All this while balancing and enjoying all that Bunbury and the South West have to offer with husband Brad and children Arlo and Olive.
"Bunbury is this special little hidden gem," Charlotte says. "I’m not from Bunbury so I think I appreciate it more than most."
We have these beautiful beaches on our doorstep and amazing wineries just around the corner. We are just so lucky with everything we have here.
Since moving to Bunbury, Charlotte has recognised the local community’s willingness to support and get creative ideas and projects off the ground.
"As a creative it can be very lonely," she said.
"It’s a big city but it has that small-town community feel.
"I love walking down the street and seeing people you know.
"There is always someone that can help you with that thing you want to get started."
Charlotte describes her work as both an exercise in experimentation, as well as a creative escape.
Recently she has transitioned to using watercolours, perhaps more out of necessity to keep the kids entertained while allowing her ideas to flourish.
Each Thursday during the school term, Charlotte leads the Creative Kids workshops at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery to give the next generation of creatives a glimpse into her world.
"As an artist I’m passionate about education," Charlotte said.
"It’s so nice to skill share and see people having a go at things they might not normally have a go at."
March will be a busy month for Charlotte like many others who enjoy the local art scene, with the Bunbury Biennale and Tree Street Art Safari taking centre stage.
"Bunbury’s art scene just blows my mind," Charlotte said.
"So many people I know are creative and it’s nice to have that cross over of ideas and projects.
"Everyone is passionate about making Bunbury better."
