Object donation offers for the Museum Collections and the Local Studies Collection are welcome and considered in the context of the City of Bunbury Museum and Local Studies Collection Policy.

Donated objects can only be accepted into our collections if they meet the requirements of this policy and a Deed of Gift is subsequently completed. Full identification and provenance (the facts known about an object’s history) will be sought before an object can be considered. The Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre does not accept open-ended loans.

Age is not one of the criteria for accepting potential donations; the significance of an object to the stories of Bunbury is far more important. Unfortunately we cannot accept all donations that are offered to us, however we will always endeavour to advise you on other suitable cultural institutions to approach instead.

If you have an item you would like to offer to donate to the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre, please complete an online donation expression of interest.

Object Donation Expression of Interest

Thank you for your generous offer of donation.

The value of your offer is much greater if you can provide as much information as possible about the item(s). If you are in doubt, please write ‘unknown’.

The Museum team will be in touch to discuss your offer and ask for further information if required.

If your donation is accepted, we will need you to complete a Deed of Gift form officially confirming a transfer of ownership of the item(s) to the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre.

Please note that we can scan and return objects such as documents and photographs if you would prefer to retain the original item.
