Watch Around Water Week

17 - 23 June

Toddlers (0-4 years) and young children (5-14 years) continue to record the highest rates of drowning in WA. This week, we are highlighting the importance of parental supervision in reducing drowning and aquatic injuries amongst children.

WATCH AROUND WATER SUPERVISION POLICIES

Supervision policies are an essential part of the Watch Around Water program. These policies have been developed based on national and international best practice standards

Children under 5 years: Must be accompanied into the water and within arm's reach of an adult at all times.

Children under 10 years: Must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times

Accompanying adults: Should be dressed ready to enter the water to assist in supervising young children

Lifeguards: Are not a replacement for parental supervision

Unsupervised children will be removed from the water

Grab a colouring-in form from any of our Aquatic team, work your magic on the page and submit it by 30th June for your chance to win a WAW goody bag.

Winners will be selected in the following age categories:

• 0-5 years
• 6 - 9 years
• 10+ years

Free Raffle for Parents

Our Aquatics team will be on deck to share info with parents on the best ways to keep your littlies safe around water. Talk to the team and get your free ticket in our WAW raffle where you could win a family pass to the Bunbury Wildlife Park or Dolphin Discovery Centre.
