We are starting exciting upgrades to the 25m pool at South West Sports Centre, replacing the pool liner with modern tiles to give it a fresh new look.
This is a major project for the City with works set to include emptying the pool, removing the existing liner, installing new tiles and refilling the pool.
As such, the 25m pool and leisure pool will be closed from Friday, 25 April 2025, until upgrades are complete, with an expected re-opening in mid-August. We will keep our community updated throughout the duration of the project.
The 50m pool, spa, sauna, steam room and other amenities at SWSC will remain open to members and customers. Please note, the 50m pool will be set up for 25m lanes during this project to cater for all existing user groups, members, swim schools and other activities.
We know the closure of these pools is not ideal, but we hope our community understands and we thank them for their patience during these necessary upgrades. The new-look pool will provide an even better and safer experience for users and will mean minimal service disruption in the longer term.
SWSC members and swim school participants have been contacted and offered alternate options while this project is being completed.
