This event will raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
MND is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells (neurones) controlling the muscles that enable us to move around, speak, swallow and breathe fail to work normally and eventually die.
With no nerves to activate them the muscles gradually weaken and waste, MND patients are left motionless, mute, and trapped within their once active bodies.
There is currently no cure for this disease which is why fundraising events like this one are so important.
Bunbury Mayor Jaysen Miguel will be taking the plunge and sliding into the ice for a good cause along with a host of other well known community members.
There will also be live music, activities and a barbecue.
