KidSport Voucher Program

KidSport is a State Government funded program which makes it possible for Western Australian children to participate in community sport and recreation by offering financial assistance towards club fees. KidSport will allow eligible youth aged 5-18 years to apply for financial assistance of up to $150 per calendar year towards club fees. The fees will go directly to the registered KidSport clubs participating in the project through their local government.

Who is eligible?

  • Applicant must be aged 5-18 years.
  • Applicant must have a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card.
  • Applicant's primary place of residence must be in the local government area they are applying to (to register with City of Bunbury, the child must live in the City of Bunbury).
  • Funding will be deducted from the registration or membership fees of the nominated club up to a maximum of up to $150 per child per calendar year. Applicants can apply for multiple clubs per calendar year, if the total does not exceed $150.

To apply for KidSport Voucher Program:

KidSport Regional Pools Program

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries has teamed up with the City of Bunbury to launch the State Government's KidSport Regional Pools Program at the South West Sports Centre.

This initiative aims to boost physical activity and water safety awareness for children aged 5 to 18. Eligible participants have the option of free pool entry for 6 months or a 10-visit swim pass to the South West Sports Centre.

To be eligible for KidSport Regional Pools Program, the child must be:

  • attending an approved regional community pool for the season; and
  • aged 5 to 18 years inclusive at the time of application; and
  • residing in regional Western Australia; and
  • named on a valid Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, with the child’s unique Customer Reference Number (CRN) visible.

To encourage more kids to take part in community sports, eligible children can use this subsidy alongside the existing KidSport voucher program. Applying for KidSport Regional Pools Program subsidy is separate from applying for a KidSport voucher.
