We would like to remind our community the operations and opening hours of Withers Community Library remain unchanged until any potential changes are supported by Bunbury City Council.

The City is encouraging community members to treat staff, including those at the Withers library, with respect, kindness and understanding while the facility’s future operations are considered.
The Council this week endorsed the City’s CEO providing a report detailing the operational and resourcing needs and impacts related to potentially returning the library to the service levels in place before COVID-19.
This decision also specified that any further determinations relating to extending opening hours, servicing or resourcing would need to be considered as part of the City’s future budget process.
The CEO report is due back to Council at its 20 May 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting.
Any future decisions or options will also be part of an extensive consultation process with the entire Bunbury community.
For now, Withers Community Library remains open Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm. We would also like to remind the community that holding any events or activities at the Withers library still requires an approved room hire booking, which is subject to availability, terms and conditions.
The City’s priority is the safety of our community, and we are bound by duty of care procedures, including appropriate insurance and licencing, so we ask our community to adhere to the correct processes for the benefit and safety of everyone.
