The City of Bunbury Community Safety and Emergency Management team recently hosted 18 students from Setagaya our Sister City in Japan.

The day started with a tour of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Fire Station where the students enjoyed a guided tour and then got to assist with a vehicle rollover simulation and have a go with the water hoses on the fire trucks.
They all had a great time, and we thank the career fire fighters on duty who made the morning so special.
The students were then taken to the City’s administration building where they sat through an informative presentation on the team’s duties – this includes storm management, fire control, evacuations and Rangers.
With so much having happened this year there was plenty to show them.
We finished with a look at the new K-9 Cube and the students were able to use the hydraulic life pods to ride up and down on to the vehicle.
