FORREST PARK PAVILION UPGRADES
Published 03 September 2024
As work continues as part of upgrades to the Forrest Park Pavilion and carpark, the City has this week started improvements to the western side of this popular spot.
The access road that meanders the tree line along Blair Street is being upgraded to further improve this community precinct.
Community safety is the City’s priority and due to the scope of the project and the site being deemed a construction zone, there will be limited access to the southern and western sides of Forrest Park during work hours, Monday to Friday.
While there will still be some restricted areas in place, there will be greater access to the precinct on weekends.
Forrest Park can also be accessed via Queensbury Street throughout the week.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank our community for their understanding as these necessary upgrades take place.
These most recent upgrades are expected to take four weeks to complete depending on the weather.
These works complement the Forrest Park Pavilion project which includes the demolition of the existing, aged clubrooms at Forrest Park to be replaced with a facility set to include four new changerooms, a function room, kitchen and bar, public toilets, umpire rooms, medical room, storage area and a veranda.
This exciting project for Bunbury will provide a high-standard facility for two of Bunbury’s long-standing sporting clubs, increase capacity for training and player and coaching development, and enhance spectator experience.
The State Government, through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, is a major supporter of this project, contributing $650,000 to the Forrest Park Pavilion redevelopment. The project is also supported by WA Cricket and Cricket Australia’s Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund through $50,000 in funding.
