City of Bunbury Grant Program funds maritime-themed festival

A new maritime-themed festival as well as four other community events have been given a funding boost thanks to the City of Bunbury Grant Program.

The Bunbury Sea Shanty Festival was a successful applicant during round two of the program and is set to receive $15,000. A new event for Bunbury the festival is set to transform the city into a winter wonderland of maritime melodies and cultural celebration.

Eighteen confirmed bands, comprising 11 sea shanty singing groups and seven folk musicians, will entertain the crowd, with two headline acts from interstate adding to the excitement.

The festival is scheduled to take place in June this year across multiple locations.
