Family riding bikes along Bunbury coastline

When you register a bicycle or e-rideable with Bikelinc, the police and the community can help return your bike or e-rideable to you if it’s lost or stolen.

Improved bike security in Bunbury

Cycling is hugely popular in the City of Bunbury. And no wonder, the city is home to kilometres of cycle paths and stunning scenic bike rides, including Leschenault Inlet Loop and the scenic coastal route of Ocean Drive from Bunbury Lighthouse to Maiden’s Reserve. Whether you're a casual rider, budding MAMIL or elite triathlete, The City strongly recommends all residents register their bikes and e-rideables with the WA Police Bikelinc program.

What is Bikelinc?

Every year, thousands of bikes are left unclaimed at local Police Stations across WA because Police cannot locate the owners. In many cases, CCTV identification of a thief may not be a possibility, but Bikelinc provides a register of your precious asset so Police can reunite bikes with their owners. Bikelinc helps Police identify stolen property and charge criminals when they have been identified in an investigation.

67,000+ bikes are listed in WA. Is yours one of them?

The City of Bunbury strongly advocates for the WA Police Bikelinc program, powered by Crime Stoppers WA. We recommend our Bunbury residents register their bikes on Bikelinc to help protect their investments and maximise their chances of having them returned if the unthinkable were to happen.

Before buying second-hand, check if a bike may be stolen property

Enter the frame serial number on Bikelinc, and if an owner has registered it and reported it stolen, you can report the seller to the WA Police. Note that a frame serial not returning a result isn’t a guarantee that the bicycle isn’t stolen.

What types of bikes or scooters can be registered on Bikelinc?

It’s free to register a bike, scooter, dirt bike, skateboard or even a unicycle. See the full list here: https://bikelinc.com.au/what-kind-of-bikes-can-be-listed/

Help us spread the word even further

The City ensures it provides Bikelinc resources at youth events and community engagement opportunities. The City also continues to liaise with Police around the importance of spreading the Bikelinc word, as WAPol are unable to reunite hundreds of bikes each year with owners.

We distribute Bikelinc resources to the City’s major frontline and community-facing facilities to print and promote at their buildings, plus circulate to other relevant networks, cycling events and activities.

Share the word with your community members about Bikelinc during bicycle/cycling-related events and activities to drive education on registering bikes to assist in the prompt and happy return of someone’s property by WAPol.

Register with Bikelinc today, and enjoy happy riding for years to come.
