, updated 24 July 2024
Join us to escape the winter weather and hear from seasoned storytellers and experts sharing the lesser-known tales of Bunbury’s histories with our Winter Warmer program.
Our presenter for this session is Chris Handley.
Date: Sunday 28 July 2024
Time: 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Free entry, RSVPs via Eventbrite are encouraged.
Bunbury teacher Fred Johnson fought in the artillery at some of the most infamous battles of the war to end all wars. Although he bore the physical and mental toll of his experiences for the rest of his life, he seldom spoke of his service. Historian Chris Handley dedicated years to piecing together the full story of Fred's war, which he published in his 2015 book, Yours Truly Came Up Smiling.
