Get involved and join the Bunbury Library Youth Collective!
Are you aged between 12-24 years? Or 11 years old and currently in Year 7?
Join us after school and enjoy the snacks whilst advocating for youth initiatives and projects at Bunbury Library and the wider community. Have a heap of fun whilst building friendships and learning new skills in getting involved in your local community and library.
Opportunities for BLYC members include;
- A voice in advocating for youth programs, events and initiatives.
- Work experience at various community events throughout the year.
- Opportunity to make a positive difference in your community.
- Develop new skills and expand your leadership and other skills.
- Get a great addition to your resume.
- Participate in free or low-cost activities, training and youth projects.
- Have a heap of fun and enjoy great snacks at group meetings.
- Meet new people and make new friends.
New members are welcome. No experience is necessary, be asand you can be involved as much or as little as you like!
Since 2022, BLYC members have;
- Participated in various work experience opportunities.
- Developed and facilitated programs at the South West Science Fair.
- Expanded their skills and made new friends.
- Designed and revamped Bunbury Libraries Young Adult area.
- Participated in various promotional videos.
- Developed intergenerational storytelling for our YouTube page.
- Participated in various workshops.
- Participated in group meetings.
- Participated in various art projects.
- Developed the BLYC Code of Conduct and mission statement.
BLYC group meetings are held at Bunbury Public Library on the first Thursday of each month from 3.30pm - 5.30pm (excluding school holidays).
Bookings not required, simply attend the library and join us in the programs room.

Important Information
- Membership is FREE and members can be involved as little or as much as they like.
- Bookings are not required, simply attend the next meeting date above.
- BLYC is a youth group ran by Bunbury Public Libraries and is made up of Library staff and youth members 12-24 years of age (or 11 years of age, currently in year 7).
- Members are supervised by library staff / BLYC group leader. Parents are not required to attend.
- Snacks and refreshments are provided at each BLYC meeting/project session.
