Learn the traditional Korean slip decorating technique, Buncheong, with ceramics artist Matt Almera. The workshop will consist of a demonstration of the technique followed by a hands-on experience where you can practice your new skills. This workshop is suitable for intermediate to experienced ceramics artists, i.e. ideally, you have made a clay object before.
Cost: $10+fees per person. Places are limited.
What to bring: Any clay carving tools in your kit, sponges, apron, rag or towel for cleaning hands.
About the artist
Matt Almera is currently exhibiting his pottery in the South West Connections subsection of Chester Nealie's survey exhibition at BRAG, Etched in Fire. He has studied and is a current student with Master Kwak Kyung-Tae, a recognised Buncheong and Onggi Pottery Master from Icheon South Korea.
