In celebration of NAIDOC Week 2024, artists from the Noongar Arts Program will present a collection of large canvases at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.
The Noongar artist-led exhibition will be an exciting, eclectic and creative feast for the eyes with the artists set to tell their stories, their way. Aligning with this year's NAIDOC Week theme, Keep the Fire Burning, the artists will seek to share the many stories of their experiences, connections to moort (family), Boodja (country) and each other through their art.
"Artists have courage. It takes some bravery to put yourself out there, on a wall or plinth. The Noongar Arts Program participants generously, and with bravery, share stories so you will be able to take them home with you on Wardandi Country or wherever you return to. We encourage the community to join in celebrations, learn and reflect, and celebrate local Noongar artists at this moorditj exhibition and throughout NAIDOC Week and beyond.
The exhibition opens Tuesday 9 July and runs until Sunday 28 July. Visit the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre during box office opening times:
- Monday - Friday, 10am to 4pm
- Saturday 20 and 27 July, 10.30am to 5.30pm
- Sunday 21 and 28 July, 10.30am- 2pm
