A landmark partnership between the City of Bunbury, Alcoa Foundation and Gnaala Karla Boodja (GKB) Aboriginal Corporation will see a dedicated Noongar arts space in the heart of Bunbury's City Centre.
This project is currently called the Bunbury Independent Aboriginal Art Facility (BIAAF). The initiative marks an important step in supporting First Nations art and culture, creating the first space of its kind in the southwest region.
The City of Bunbury is working with two consultants, Dellas Bennell and Karen Morgan, to collaborate with the Aboriginal artist community over the coming months. The aim is to gather feedback and questionnaires as part of the first stage of the consultation period. The collated feedback will return to the artist community for further discussion and further input, ensuring the best for this exciting project.
Both are available on Thursdays and Fridays each week at BRAG and GKB and are offering face-to-face meetings with artists to talk about the project, as well as opportunities for alternative location meetings by appointment. Contact above for more information.
Artists are invited to complete the below questionnaire and return it via email or in person to Dellas, Karen, or Bunbury Regional Art Gallery.
