  2. 5 Gym Hacks For When You Are Short On Time

Lets face it, most of us are time-poor these days and finding time for a full workout can feel like a luxury many can't afford.
But what if you could optimize your workouts to maximize results in less time? SWSC Gym Instructor Trish, shares her top 5 hacks to help you stay fit and healthy without sacrificing productivity.

  1. Have a plan – know what workout you want to do before you even get to the gym.  Know exactly what exercises, sets and reps you need to need and this will keep you on track.  Don't forget, the Technogym App can help you with this and all the information is in the palm of your hand
  2. Incorporate compound exercises - these exercises engage several muscles and joints simultaneously, allowing you to workout more of your body with fewer exercises.  eg. deadlifts, bench press & squats.
  3. Superset your workout - perform two or more exercises back-to-back with little to no rest in between.  By reducing rest periods, you can get more done in a shorter time  eg. Bench Press followed by Bent Over Rows
  4. Intense and short - High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) involves alternating between short bursts of intense exercise and brief recovery periods.  It's the intensity that makes each interval highly effective.  Best of all, HIIT can be incorporated into most types of training including running, cycling or strength programs.
  5. Avoid distractions - maintain a productive gym session by using headphones which can create a personal space and block out external noise.  If possible, choose a quiet time to attend the gym.  Minimise your phone use and avoid checking messages or social media during your sessions to help you stay focused.
