The resurfacing of the Bunbury Athletics Track has now been completed.
The facility has now obtained World Athletics Class 2 certification making it one of the best track surfaces in the State.
It is hoped the new surface and the world class certification will provide the opportunity to attract high profile athletic events to Bunbury.
The track is home to the Bunbury Little Athletics Club and also hosts the annual Track Ultra WA event which sees runners traverse the track for three, six, 12 or 24 hours.
The Bunbury Athletics Club recently held a grand opening competition day to celebrate the opening and get the first look at the new surface.
In order to carry out these works the old surface was completely removed in August 2021.
