Celebrate Australia Day your way with a variety of activities and entertainment throughout Bunbury from sunrise until after the sun sets. Fireworks will light the sky over Koombana Bay from 8.30pm.
Event Program
Wardan Sunrise Ceremony
5am sunrise. At the Nedigar Ngoorndingy Memorial Park Bunbury (corner of Ocean Drive and Wellington Street).
It’s a time of reflection for the ancestors of Wardandi Country and to pay homage to the sacrifices made for our people. The ceremony will be led by a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony and minute silence with the opportunity for Noongar people to speak and share along with music in song and dance. All are welcome!
The Apprentice and Traineeship Company Fun Run
Starts at 7.30am. Starts at Pat Usher Foreshore, Blair Street Bunbury. Presentations begin at 9.15am.
Beginners Tai Chi
7.30am to 8.30am, Jetty Baths
Beginners Tai Chi (also known as Qi Gong) is a gentle form of exercise suitable for all ages and abilities. This class will bring space into your body and calmness to your mind.
Please bring a hat and loose fitting casual clothes.

Taffys Colouring Station and Fairy Floss
From 10am, Taffys. Koombana North.
Stop by the free colouring station, fairy floss will be available for sale.
Australia Day Special Race Event for all Fleets
From 3pm, on the waters of Koombana Bay.
Hosted by the Koombana Bay Sailing Club. Please note that the Koombana Bay Sailing Club is a member only club and is closed to members of the public during SkyFest.

Join us for a variety of kids activities throughout the afternoon including flying a drone.
Character Meet and Greet
4pm to 8.30pm along the Koombana Bay waterfront.
Ariel, Spiderman, and a native flower fairy will be walking around the waterfront. Come along and say hi!
Lebanese Cuisine and DJ Beats
4pm to 9pm, Cedar by the Water, Marlston waterfront.
Fish and Chips Picnic on the Grass
From 5pm, beach side of Dolphin Discovery Centre.

Tribal Dance
5pm to 6pm, Koombana Foreshore.
Come and try some Tribal dance with Beck Tichbon – for women and young women. No experience necessary. Vibrant, fun and also relaxing! Hosted by South West Women’s Health Information Centre.
Summer Roll
5.30pm, meet at the Vat2 Carpark.
Enjoy Bunbury on wheels! BYO skates, blades, bikes and boards! All skill levels are welcome. Come for a roll through the City, have some fun and make new friends.
VIP Grazing Table
From 6pm, upstairs at the Dolphin Discovery Centre.
Grazing table, DJ, and prime viewing of the fireworks display.

Fireworks exclusion zone and closures
The end of Jetty Road will be closed from 10am Wednesday 25 January until the morning of Friday 27 January to allow for the fireworks exclusion zone. Access to the mooring/pens and parking up to that area will be open during this time.
There will be an exclusion zone around the fireworks launch area from 6pm until 9.30pm on Thursday 26 January as per the event map. People on land and water will be unable to access this space during this time.
Department of Transport staff will be on the water reminding people of the exclusion zone throughout the day and evening.
Getting to the event
City of Bunbury parking bays are free on public holidays but some may have time limits. To find out where there is available parking, please download the Park Bunbury app for smartphones.
You may also wish to take one of the Beam or Bird e-scooters which can be found in locations throughout the Bunbury CBD. E-scooter locations can be found by downloading the Beam app or the Bird app from your smartphone.
