The dos and don’ts of the upcoming hard waste verge collection.

We absolutely love providing this service for our residents and it’s just around the corner (South Bunbury, Usher and Withers can start putting out their hard waste this week), but here’s some helpful tips!

DO – check those couch corners for spare change before putting out for hard waste
DO – consider whether items could be recycled or reused, instead of going to landfill

DON’T – put out any of the below items for collection, as they won’t be collected:

  • Building materials such as bricks, rubble, sand, concrete or cement
  • Fence panels
  • Motor vehicle parts or tyres
  • Asbestos or fibre cement products
  • Flammable or chemical liquids (including paint and oil)
  • Green waste
  • Gas bottles
  • Commercial crates/pallets
  • Mattresses

Please also remember, it’s a maximum of three-cubic-metres per household and all items must be no bigger than 1.5 metres long.

Dates of the upcoming hard waste collections are:

South Bunbury, Usher and Withers – week of 27 February.

Bunbury, East Bunbury and Pelican Point – week of 6 March (waste can go out from 20 February)

Carey Park, College Grove, Glen Iris, Picton and Vittoria Heights – week of 13 March (waste can go out from 27 February)

A reminder that an infringement may apply to waste being left on verges outside of these dates.
