Hard waste collections to begin

It's that time of the year already with hard waste collections to begin later this month.

• Area A begins 26 February
• Area B begins 4 March
• Area C begins 11 March

It is the perfect opportunity to spring clean your home and sort through any unwanted belongings remember though that landfill is the last resort!

Electronic waste - which is any household item with a plug, battery or cord - is now accepted during hard waste collections.

Please separate e-waste, whitegoods and general hard waste for easy collection.

Please DO NOT place hard waste out more than two weeks prior to collection date for your area.

Remember: GREAT sorts ensure their hard waste pile is free of obstructions such as parked cars, sprinklers, water mains, trees and power lines.

Your pile may be left behind if the truck and bobcat drivers can’t access it easily.

Maximum 3 cubic metres, items to be no longer than 1.5 metres.

• Items that WON’T be collected:
• building materials
• paint
• oils
• poisons/chemicals
• tyres
• gas bottles
• pallets
• general household waste
• mattresses
