Published 08 February 2023

The City of Bunbury is continually improving the waste services it provides its community with diversion from landfill, community safety and cost on our community always a priority.

With these priorities in mind, the City is changing what it will accept at its Davenport facility at McCombe Road.

The McCombe Road Resource Drop Off Centre will no longer accept household hazardous waste, meaning the City can further its efforts to divert waste from landfill, ultimately save our Bunbury community money, provide a safer environment for City staff and align with ambitions for accepted materials being a resource and not waste.

There are also strict guidelines around disposal of household hazardous waste to ensure improved resource management outcomes.

At no cost to residents, household hazardous waste can still be taken to the Stanley Road Waste Management Facility, which is open every day.

The change in operations mean the Davenport facility will need to be closed from this Thursday so the City can safely prepare the site before reopening at 10.30am on Thursday 16 February 2023.

For a list of items that will and will not be accepted at the McCombe Road Resource Drop Off Centre, visit the page below.

The acceptable items represent valuable resources that can be repurposed, reused or recycled in a responsible manner, in line with our community’s expectations.

The City thanks the community for its understanding as we and our residents continue to lead the way when it comes to waste management and sustainability.
