World premiere of The Naked Wanderer at CinefestOZ which was filmed in Bunbury

It’s official! Bunbury has been accredited as a Film-Friendly City.

But what does that mean exactly? It means we have been noted by Screenwest – Western Australia's lead screen funding and development organisation – as being a welcoming and desirable destination for film and television producers.

The Film-Friendly City program aims to reduce red tape and streamline approval processes to encourage screen production in the regions.

To be accredited as a Film-Friendly City, local governments are required to develop and implement a Film Friendly Guideline and process to help facilitate the film productions requirements and obtain the relevant approvals.

This also means that our amazing city will literally be viewed by a wider audience through advertising, documentaries and educational programs, and tourism promotional material.

It is a real boon for Bunbury!

We are also encouraging our locals to let potential filmmakers know of any hidden gems in Bunbury that would be suitable for filming. This may be a location, home or even an object like a vintage car. Simply add it to our Film Asset Database which will then be shared with prospective filmmakers.
