The City of Bunbury in partnership with City of Busselton and the Shires of Dardanup, Capel and Harvey work together to minimise mosquito-borne diseases and nuisance mosquitoes through the WA Department of Health initiative – Fight the Bite.
The Fight the Bite campaign aims to educate the community as well as carries out the following mosquito management activities:
- Pre-treatment surveillance
- Aerial spraying
- Fogging
- Ground treatments
- Education
- Post-treatment surveillance
- Mosquito mark and recapture project
As a community member you can do your bit by covering up with light, long-sleeved clothing, apply a mosquito repellent preferably with DEET or Picardin and clean up your yard to remove breeding areas.
