Nominations are now open for the inaugural Bunbury Geographe Sports Awards, hosted by Bunbury Mayor Jaysen Miguel and the City of Bunbury.

The new annual sports awards will recognise athletes, officials, volunteers and sporting events from across the Bunbury Geographe region.

It will see the merging of the AJ (Tood) Buswell South Western Times Sports Star and Myles Junior Sport Star of the year awards to be announced at an awards evening in April.

The event will recognise Bunbury Geographe’s finest and most talented contributors to sport in the region with awards across several categories to be presented.

Categories include:

  • AJ (Tood) Buswell Sports Star of the Year (nominations via South Western Times)
  • Myles Junior Sports Star of the Year
  • Para-Athlete of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Official of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Volunteer Service to Sport Award
  • Event of the Year

Nominations for all awards are now open until 17 March 2023 with Bunbury Geographe based sport and recreation organisations, clubs or associations, schools and State and National sporting associations eligible to lodge a submission.

The awards evening will be held on 14 April at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre with more details to follow.
