The City conducts an annual grants program which aims to welcome opportunities that promotes Bunbury as a place to live, visit and invest. The program is divided in to four (4) categories that align with the key themes that make up the City’s Strategic Community Plan which are as follows:
The purpose of this category is to build a strong and resilient community, where people feel safe and connected to their neighbourhood and City.
The purpose of this subcategory is to create a highly engaged community to participate in a wide range of opportunities that make them feel welcomed and connected.
The initiatives could be through community events, theatre, film, arts, murals, artist-in-residence, music, circus, culture, sporting, health and wellness.
The purpose of this subcategory is to strengthen and support our residents to develop a sense of safety and connection through community initiatives in their neighbourhood.
The purpose of this category is to promote Bunbury as a thriving and premier destination for significant events, driving people to come visit Bunbury and spend time in the region.
The purpose of this category is to support members of the community who exemplify excellence, to proudly represent and promote Bunbury in a positive manner.
The Achievement round has closed for 2022/23
Applications are welcome for Round 2 funding of Community Connect and Signature Events Tier 1 categories.
The round is now open and will close at 11am on 16 December 2022.

Inclusive Volunteer Engagement and Planning Session
Friday 25 November 2022 from 9am to 12pm in the City’s Function Room.
The three-hour session will be run by Volunteer South West and is tailored towards community organisations and not-for-profit groups. The City of Bunbury values a strong sense of belonging through volunteering in the community.
The session will cover;
- What to have in place as a part of a volunteer management program.
- Connecting with volunteers including identifying the target audience and the interview process.
- How to support the volunteers to ensure retainment.
