The City of Bunbury Libraries welcomes and encourages children of all ages to use its facilities and services.
For the safety and comfort of all library patrons, a parent, guardian, caregiver or responsible adult over 18 years of age must accompany and supervise children (12 years and under) whilst in the library and accept responsibility for monitoring the activities and behaviour of their children.
Supervision requires that the responsible adult must be within sight of their child at all times. Library staff are unable to undertake supervision responsibilities when children and young people enter the library.
Responsible adults visiting the library are asked to observe the following guidelines:
- Supervise your child(ren) at all times whilst using library facilities, including use of the public computers.
- Keep food and drinks away from all library materials and computers.
- Hot drinks are not allowed in the Children’s area.
- For safety reasons, children are required to use the furniture provided appropriately for its intended use and are not to climb on.
- Enforce that library shelves are not to be climbed on, over or under.
- Please tidy areas you have used before leaving.
Children aged over 12 years may use the library without being supervised provided they maintain acceptable behaviour at all times.
