The artwork in the Bunuru Gallery is drawn from the City of Bunbury Art Collection, a rich archive of Noongar artistry acquired over many years. Many of these works come from the Noongar Country exhibition, which proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary - a milestone that reflects the enduring strength and evolution of Noongar creative expression.
Fittingly, this collection is showcased during Bunuru, the hottest Noongar season, a time of abundance along the coast and waterways. Gathered from numerous exhibitions held at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery, these works embody truth-telling, deep familial connections, and the innovation of Noongar artists across generations. Together, they stand as a testament to a vibrant and ever-growing cultural legacy.
The Collection exhibition will be on display as part of this year's Noongar Country exhibition, opening Saturday 29 March 2025.
The gallery is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Entry is always free.
