Volunteer Opportunity

The City of Bunbury is seeking volunteers for the Shift Youth Festival on Saturday 10 October at Koombana Beach.

It is an opportunity to learn new skills while enjoying a fun, youth-centred event before school starts. We are looking for enthusiastic and fun volunteers over the age of 15.

To register your interest, download this form​ which must be returned before 4pm on 18 September 2020.

Volunteer shifts will run for 3 hours between 2pm and 8pm and duties may include set-up and pack-down, distributing event merchandise, information and maps/programs to patrons, and keeping areas clean and tidy. Prior to the event you will be issued with a brief role description and map.

Successful applicants will be required to complete further paperwork including a Volunteer Police Clearance Form and Volunteer Medical Declaration.

The Shift Youth Festival is the City's rescheduled youth week event which was cancelled due to COVID-19 in April. The free event will feature a range of engaging activities and open to the entire community.​


Virtual Life Hacks

The City of Bunbury Life Hacks program aims to equip young people with essential life skills. In 2020 workshops were held online over seven weeks with experts in different fields sharing their tips and resources for success. Sessions were recorded and are now available to view on the City of Bunbury YouTube channel

Youth Precinct Community Engagement and Concept Design

Youth Precinct Skate Meeting

Skaters, BMX and scooter riders are invited to provide feedback on the technical aspects of the Bunbury Youth Precinct.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 20 August at 5pm in the City of Bunbury Function Room (4 Stephen Street Bunbury). Registrations are not required and everyone is welcome.

The Youth Precinct is currently in detailed design phase of the project being developed by Playce - the same company that developed the concept design.

In order to ensure the precinct is co-designed with the community, Playce in collaboration with the City of Bunbury continue to facilitate community engagement workshops.​


Unleashed

Unleashed is a school holiday program that focuses on skill development for Bunbury young people aged 10 to 17 years of age. The City of Bunbury works in partnership with local facilitators to deliver experiences which promote learning and engagement across multiple areas of interest. Each school holiday period will offer a range of activities that target specific skills and interests, providing participants the opportunity to have fun while developing new skills.

Activities will be run on Monday and Wednesdays during the school holidays. Check out the Unleashed page here for upcoming dates and details.
