Council has resolved to publicly advertise the revised draft Local Planning Policy: Signage and Advertisements for community and stakeholder comment.  The proposed changes to the local planning policy seek to facilitate and appropriately manage the growth in demand for digital advertising, along with rationalising the format and content of the policy, with the aim of simplifying and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the policy’s implementation.

In line with industry trends, the draft local planning policy proposes to increase the deemed-to-comply size for all types of billboard signage from 36m² to a new standard size of 45m², regardless of whether or not the sign is animated.  As part of the review, it is also proposed to make a number of changes to the wording of certain policy provisions and associated notes in the interests of maintaining road safety.

Documents are available for viewing at the City of Bunbury No. 4 Stephen Street, Bunbury during office hours (8.30am - 5pm weekdays) up to and including Thursday 7 September 2017.
