Passionate printmakers return to BRAG

Tuesday, 23 October 2018

In 2005 an artist collective with a love for printmaking was formed – the South West Printmakers.

The group‘s first exhibition was in 2006 at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery which has hosted the display every year since.

In 2018 the printmakers have addressed the theme of Place Interrupted encouraging the artists to examine any break in the continuity of any relationship.

Each artist has interpreted the theme with a different approach and expressed themselves uniquely through various printing techniques and processes.

The exhibition features the work of Cynthia Dix, Sue Dennis, Janette Trainer, Helen Hulme-Gerrard, Lianne Jay, Carol Farmer, Christine Latham and Yvonne Dorricott.

Place Interrupted is a show not to be missed and will include artist talks as well as a number of public programs for budding printmakers to take part in.

The exhibition kicks off with opening night on Friday 26 October from 6pm followed by a floor talk with artists Carol Farmer and Yvonne Dorricot on Saturday 27 October at 2pm.

Join Helen Hulme and Sue Dennis on Saturday 10 November from 10am to 2pm to learn the art of Monotype Printmaking. Then on Saturday 17 November Carol Farmer and Yvonne Dorricott will be holding a workshop on Two Colour Drypoint Printmaking at BRAG from 10am to 2pm.

Costs and bookings will apply. Please contact Amber on 9792 7321 or anorrish@bunbury.wa.gov.au with any inquires.
