Forward-thinking community members who have a passion for innovation and technology are being urged to nominate for a new City of Bunbury advisory group.
The Innovation and Technology Advisory Group is being formed to consider opportunities and advise Council of new ideas that would have positive benefits for the community.
Key responsibilities of the group will include defining innovation as it relates to Bunbury; prioritising and exploring new ideas; benchmark against other regional facilities; and administering a “suggestion scheme”.
Mayor Gary Brennan said it was essential the City considered and investigated emerging ideas and technology that would enhance the prosperity of Bunbury.
“It is important that people who can lead thought and discussion around innovation and technology are involved as they will be catalysts for starting conversations in these areas,” Mr Brennan said.
“Exploring new opportunities, and ultimately implementing those that have tangible benefits for Bunbury, will enhance the City’s standing as a progressive regional city.”
Applicants will also be required to collaborate with relevant entities, promote the City’s innovation policy, inform the City of new trends and opinions, and make relevant recommendations.
To apply, download a nomination form from www.bunbury.wa.gov.au and search for “Innovation”. Applications close 5pm on Friday, 15 September.
