Grandfamilies Day

GrandFamilies Fun Day is an annual community wide event which celebrates the importance of family, and particularly the important role that grandparents play through caring for young children, passing on important knowledge and sharing wisdom. GrandFamilies Fun Day celebrates the active role which many seniors play in raising children within the Bunbury Community. Through this event, the City of Bunbury provides a fun, low cost experience for families to enjoy together which focusses on the benefits of these intergenerational relationships to both families and the wider community.

As well as engaging entertainment for the whole family, the event particularly supports senior carers with a range of information, activities and advice - provided by local community organizations on the day. This will strengthen networks within the community, connecting senior carers with each other and with community services and recreational opportunities in the region.

GrandFamilies Fun Day aims to provide a range of connection points to locally based support and activities for seniors attending the event. It also provides a social and welcoming environment and an opportunity for seniors to connect with each other. Many community groups and organizations will be present in one location making it easy for seniors to gather information which is relevant to their lifestyle.

For further information on how to be involved with this event, please email community@bunbury.wa.gov.au or contact the Community Development Team on 9792 7000.
